The fiscal year ended in July for the Indiana Supreme Court. The end of year report notes that the supremes took care of 945 cases. Though this is less than 1% of the cases at the trial court level, not many of those are appealed to the Supreme Court.
Most of the cases heard by the supreme court were criminal in nature, 487. Civil cases ranked next coming in at 308. Of the cases worked, the Honorable Steven H. David wrote the most opinions. Interestingly, most of the time the justices are in agreement with each other. More than 77% of the court's opinions were decided by a unanimous decision (5-0 or 4-0).
